Windows 10 did a major update on my laptop and now my wireless printer won't work. It's a Brother MFC-j430w model.

I've made sure I'm on the same network, rebooted the laptop, restarted the printer, deleted the printer and reinstalled it (many times). Added it by the printer IP Address. I've tried both Windows Printer help and Brother Printer Repair tool, both come back and say connection to the printer cannot be established. I've tried to change the IP Address of the printer and the laptop and printer still can't find each other.

I tried to ping the IP Address of the printer but it won't work.

I've run out of ideas on what else to do. Suggestions?

Start with this working your way through each option
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4015397

    and then proceed to here
    https://support.brother.com/g/b/faqend.aspx?c=gb&lang=en&prod=mfcj430w_all&faqid=faq00100029_008
checking all options listed on the brother site please

I know you say you have tried the Brother repair utility but please proceed with this
    https://support.brother.com/g/b/faqend.aspx?c=gb&lang=en&prod=mfcj430w_all&faqid=faq00000247_006
    and the network configuration issue
Noting that it may be a connection issue on security apps as at step 4
