ok, this is the problem my laptop used to work wirless like 50 feet away, but now it just suddenly(out of the blue, all of a sudden, did not do anything) only works from like 5 feet away, and just barely. Even the ethernet, when i hook it up it does not work, so anybody have any bright ideas, (yes I have updated all the drivers) so PLZ HELP ME!!!!!!!! ;)

Well, you appear to have two issues. As far as the wireless range, my guess would be that you have a device interfering with the signal, since it suddenly lost a lot of range. One of the wireless units could also be failing.

As far as the direct connection not working, we'd need more information.

Open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

you can also right click on the dos window > select all > then hit ENTER and everything will be in the clipboard

All seems well there, I don't know that this is a software issue. I'd be looking at hardware issues, interference, loose antenna connections, or failing wireless adapters.

I think its the wirless adapter, Do you know where i can get a new one for my laptop
Dell inspiron 1150.

o and john since it says that your microsoft mvp, if I use my xp disk, like i reformat too many times, will the cd key that came with the disk stop working?
