I am so frustrated, but theres only so much I know how to do.

My sony vaio is having trouble playing video files on windows media player. It plays them, I hear sound, but no video. I have DL windows media player 10 twice, and even tried the old version. A friend told me to DL divx codec bundle, and I did. I have lso tried looking in the troubleshooting section of wmp. Nothing

    What could it be????????

What types of video files are they? There are many different formats. What is the file extension, where did you get them from?

Windows media video/audio, or mpeg files. one was already on the pc from when my friend had it. I have tried playing others of a cd, and I even went online trying to play random vids to see how it would do.

Have a look at the instructions on the top of this page for finding an error message or finding out whether it is a codec related problem.
