i have an offer for my used computer system (not just default specs)

    80GB HDD -- 512 RAM
996 MHz (seen) out of 1.0 GHz processor
    DVD+/- RW Dual Layer [Lite-On]

original system had a 300MHz processor w/ 128 RAM and only a CD-Rom drive ... along with a 9.5 GB hard drive ... older Hewlett Packard Vectra (designed for '98 ... i upped the specs so it's currently running Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 3)

it also has on it Microsoft Office 2003, Adobe Photoshop CS2, and more "expensive" software

It's worth almost nothing truthfully. It's marginal for running XP, and new systems with far better specifications sell for a couple hundred dollars.

Unless that Office, Photoshop, and more "expensive" software are 100% legal and come with original media and COA, they're worthless.

I've given away systems with better specifications, I simply didn't want to spend the time looking for a buyer for a $75-100 system.

One of my sons asked me yesterday how much an Apple IIe is worth (a friend gave it to him this week). I think it's worth about as much as my Radioshack CoCo II.

Again not meaning to be insulting, I would say $100-150 but realize it has no resale value, only that because you have someone with some interest in it. I threw out a running Hp just the other day with the same cpu and ram. There isn't even much market for that old sd ram anymore either.

The hardware itself is not worth much, but, if it includes a Retail copy of XP, plus legal copies of Office and Adobe, $100-$150, maybe $200 for a buyer looking for that software.
