Out of curiosity I tried to boot in safe mode. I got the screen with the different choices to chose what to boot. Every time I try to boot in any mode but normal it goes thur the process of showing the files it is loading and then it goes to a screen giving me all the boot choices again. I went thru this cycle 5 times and all it would do is let me boot normally. This is not a problem now but if I ever need to boot in safe mode I am afraid I will be unable to.

Have a look at ntbtlog.txt in the windows folder; what are the last couple of files it shows there?
Some Safe Mode boot issues are Display driver related although as I've seen these, it usually results in a hang on agp440.sys
