Can you boot up in safe mode? And what Window version are you running?

Tap the f8 key repeatedly during the boot process to get a boot menu. Try safe mode.

    The comctl32.dll goes in c:\windows\system

If you have Win98 and can boot in safe mode, you can use the System File Checker to restore it or run the IE Repair tool if you have it.

You could also copy it from another system (should be same IE version) via floppy disk.

    Hi mt_7773, welcome to TSG.

    Can you start in safemode?
What operating system are you running?
