A friend of mine has a Vista desktop computer. She's got a movie clip that she made and put on a DVD and she wanted to save that DVD file to her hard drive and then put it on her website. But when she saves it to her computer, she can no longer open it and view it.

She can view it if she runs it from the DVD, though.

Any ideas of why she would not be able to view it from the hard drive? I know that Windows XP needs to have software to play DVDs (and I'm assuming the saved DVD file) but I thought that one does not need any extra software with Vista? I don't know, I don't have Vista.
