2 year old IBM PC. I have formatted the HHD and it won't find the CD-RW ( liteon 485S). I have tried bootup discs for 95, 98, etc.
I get " Device driver not found: 'MSCD001' No valid CDROM device drivers selected". I have tried another CD-RW and it is just the same. Help please at DUMMY level.

Hi Axus,

When you started your computer with the Win98 boot disk---when the Windows Menu appeared it should have given you the choice to restart with CD_ROM support. Did you choose this option?

Did you check to make sure the jumper was set correctly and the cables connected nice and tight?

Just some thoughts.
