Hi guys I'm having a slight problem with word.

Employee A created a document in Word 2000. Employee B is now working on that document. They renamed the file a different file name.

The problem that is occuring is whenever Word goes to autosave the error comes up,

"You can not save while the file is in use by another process."

    Then immediately after that one...

"Saving Autorecovery file postponed for [filename]"

The only article I could find relating to this from Microsoft was,

    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=286892

However I do not think this is playing a role in it.

She saved it on the network drive which all users have full read/write access to.

I too have the same problem. It started with I downloaded some Word documents from a company web site. I found tht it only happened with these documents open - and another associated problem was that hibernte stopped working. The MS help item suggests it is connected with encryption - but there is not much guidance on what to do. The Tools, Security, Advanced that is suggested reveals a lost of encryption options (mine is set to Win 2000, win 97 compatability). Perhaps there is more info in the MS site somewhere but I have not yet found it.
