When closing Word 2000 SR-1, following error message appears:
"Winword has caused an error in VBE6.DLL. Winword will now close".

    Operating system is Windows ME.

    Help, please.

Thanks, Eddie, for your suggestion, which I have tried to follow up.

As I indicated, I am already using Word SR-1. Therefore, your reference does not seem to apply to my case. However, I did not make it clear that my Word SR-1 is a component of WorksSuite 2001.

I have tried to see the effect of uninstalling initially Word only and then reinstalling it, and also doing the same with the whole of WorksSuite.

I have still got the problem and would appreciate further help.

    Regards

    Gussie

    Eddie, you are a genius.

I went to the link you suggested and the third option of copying
PDFMakerA.dot to the folder listed for 'Startup', in the Word folder, led to success.

I am most grateful for the trouble you have taken.

    Regards

    Gussie
