Misssing all the upper task/tool bars on word; somehow they disappeared I would like to correct and have them back so please tell me how. Already tried to re-install and this did not work. Short of un-installing & re-installing, is there a easier way to get the toobars/taskbars back? Also tried repair option from cd & this did not work either. Thank you, [email protected]

    First:

With Word closed, find the file(s) on your hard drive called normal.dot and rename it/them to abnormal.dot. Retry Word.

    Second:

If First doesn't work, with Word closed, hit Start-Run and type regedit and hit enter. Browse to the following folder, depending on your version, right-click the Word folder and rename it to OldWord.

    For Office 97, replace X.X with 8.0
    For Office 2000, replace X.X with 9.0
For Office XP, replace X.X with 10.0

    hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\office\X.X\word

One of the above should surely fix it without the need to reinstall.
