I have a large word document that requires that I open it using the Open & Repair option every time I open it. It will then open correctly and I can save it normally; however, the same thing occurs each time I open it. I could open it in Word 2007 and save it in 97-2003 version format and then get it to open in 2003 successfully. Thoughts? I think I am ok, but would love to know if anyone knows why the issue isn't resolved after it is repaired and saved.

    Thanks.

How large is "large", in terms of file size?

If it is too large for 2003, it likely gets corrupted.

I always break "large" word files into sevaral smaller files to avoid corruption.

    Hi:

It was over 100 mb. I discovered that versioning was turned on. I think that had something to do with it. I turned it off and deleted all versions and seem to be ok. I'll let you know if not.

    Thanks for the quick reply.
