Somewhere along the line word starting shipping with a very annoying problem with image rendering. Mainly it's very slow to show images in a document. Take your average 5 page document and paste a bunch of pictures jpeg (.jpg) and bitmaps (.bmp) into it...at least one image per page. Now scroll through the document and notice the images don't appear right way and sometimes they seem to ghost in and out and are hard to read.

I tried change a bunch of options to stop this behavior as it was driving me nuts while I was creating some documentation. My only thought was that word is trying to conserve resources for big technical manuals etc ??? But my documents are small so resources are not an issue. This image problem also makes them hard for other to read.

There has to be someway to turn this behavior off. Anybody have any ideas?
Wordpad seems to work better...but I can't use wordpad due to my requirements.

How big are the images electronically? Perhaps your images are bigger and Word hasn't changed a bit.

These are just 200k to 700k images...standard screenshots. This is most likely a problem that has existed for sometime. I am looking for a solution. Tried web view, print view and different options but still have same problem.
