While I am in MS word or excel I noticed that the "down arrow" key of the "Del" are behaving in a strange way. Both wand to "jump" a number of document few lines. Any suggestions of how to rectify this?

Hello there, welcome to the board!

Hit your END key. That should toggle off End Mode. If that does not do it, try another keyboard (they go bad sometimes). Note that you can look in the status bar (bottom-most bar in the application) and see if it has an "END" in the bottom-right corner. If it does, this means End Mode is on.
