I recently aquired a laptop with Word 2000 and the keystrokes aren't coming up correctly. Here some examples
typing x gives dx, typing w gives =wl, typing s gives es., typing m gives 6nm, hitting the control key tries to send the document to the printer. Any ideas? Is this a virus? It's not only on Word, any keying produces strange results.

Hmm.. Never heard of a virus producing those results.

Try cleaning up your hard drive and let us know if that helps.

If not, close Word and try renaming the file(s) on your hard drive called normal.dot to abnormal.dot and relaunch Word, and let us know if that helps.
