in word xp, how can you keep a macro from starting automatically when you start the program (specifically Adobe PDF maker), which i never use, and just clutters by taskbar. Cheers,

In Word, go to Tools-Options, File locations.

Find the location of the STARTUP folder.

    Close Word.
Go to the Startup folder and remove or delete any files in there.

    :)

    Try Tools-Templates and Addins.

    Anything checked?
Those are the files you're looking for.
I'm not sure if you can just uncheck them or not.

You're sure you were looking in the proper startup folder?
