Welcome to TSG,
You can import the list you used to create the mail merge. In outlook, Go to File, then Open and "Import' will initiate a wizard. My understanding is the Mail Merge document doesn't contain the email addresses, it links to them.

Whilst fairly competent with managing my PC, where and how do I find 'outlook'? A naïve question I know but ....?Is it used for opening the internet, or my windows live mail, or somewhere else. I don't see it as a programme.Sorry to be so dull!Once I'm in the right direction I'll be fine - hopefully.

Hi! Thanks for the interest and input.Unfortunately the files with the email addresses are *mdb files and not given as an option. They are stored within the My Data folder which is also unobtainable through the browse button.I really thought we'd cracked it but not yet.Can you offer another route - so close yet so far! Amazing you are in Arkansas - I'm in England on the south coast south of London.

If your familiar with MS Access (mdb) file. Your can export the table (or use query) to a .csv or .xlsx file type that would be compatible with the import. Once exported from Access you can move this file or files to downloads or somewhere the Browse (for import) will take you.

If you are wanting to categorize or add additional information for the email address it will be easier to do here than once you get it in Live Mail.

There are quite a few Brits (is that a good term?) that use this site for help as well as provide support. Most are enjoyable to work with:)

I don't have Access and never used it in any previous existence! I am now well retired. Is there an alternative route without downloading, it or should I go for the free 1 month trial, see how my mental agility copes, just for this purpose? Many thanks, George

Please remember to keep all assistance on the boards as per the site rules:
For the safety of our members, we must require that all technical support take place in the forums. This offers the opportunity for peer-review with the hope that bad advice can be corrected. Having problems and solutions publicly visible may also help someone in the future who is experiencing the same issue. As a result, we do not allow assistance to be given via email or Private Message. Due to the risks involved, we also do not allow live remote control of computers by our volunteers. If you're looking for live support, there are other (paid) sites that provide that service.

MailmergeGuy's list contains private information. I recommended you find someone to extract the data from the Access Database and get back with us if there are problems uploading to the Live Mail. No need to mess with Access for a one off like this if you know someone who can do it for you.
