My Dell 4300A running XP Home SP2 started acting up about a week ago. It showed a lot of activity by MSMSGR, even though I had disabled the Messenger in Services.

A2 (A-SquaredFree) found and quarantined the following, but I still find the homepage in IE6 to have been hijacked. Sorry I didn't note the URL to which it pointed. Perhaps that was related to Adware.NewDotNet, which I also found and removed. The IE6 homepage hijack persists, even after these removals.
