Hey, I was at college a couple of years ago doing a Java course. The text was 'Java; An introduction to computer science and programming. By Walter Savitch.' Anyway the book came with a CD which has been lost. The Java textpad on the CD highlighted the synax in red, blue, etc. which made it easy to understand, I'd like to learn Java again. I have got Jedit but it doesn't seem to have the same highlighting feature. Can somebody tell me where I can get the sort of editor a complete begginer could use?

    Many Thanks.

Eclipse is probably the the most widely use open source IDE for Java. You could also try NetBeans from Sun. Both should have tutorials that get you started.
