    Hi all,
Have thought for a while now my pc slow and spends time doing its own thing sometimes. Finally checked in startup of msconfig to find, 'nvcpl' worm, and 'nwiz' worm without even checking anymore yet. Checked further in running processes and found 'smss' trojan and 'csrs' trojan running again without checking anymore, although there is a process running with no name or filepath.

I have norton , ad aware se, spybot, spyware guard and spyware blaster all running as i visted this superb site to protect myself a while ago.

Can someone please advise what i should do first?

    Many thanks guys

    Those first 2 are legit

    http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item5
Scroll down to the download section

    Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.

Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

What is disabled in the startup tab of msconfig - enable all entries as nothing looks wrong in your log

How much memory do you have as you have a lot running at startup and a lot of processes running

Ah yes, sorry NvCpl and nwiz are disabled thru me trying to correct..
    also from Belarc;
    1.90 gigahertz AMD Athlon XP
    128 kilobyte primary memory cache
    512 kilobyte secondary memory cache.
I would like to reduce processes from system tray yes (not sure how) but priority was any viruses etc.

    Many thanks

That is your processor - you need to look to the right at the memory modules

What ones are in the systray although - again - it does not look that bad

    oops, sorry try this:

    512 Megabytes Installed Memory
    Slot 'A0' has 512 MB
    Slot 'A1' is Empty
    Slot 'A2' is Empty

In systray at bottom of screen i got -Lacie, phone, Norton, printer, Spyguard,mRouter, Intervideo Manager,Bluetooth, Nokia Connection manager, windows messenger, EXPERT tool, Volume, Trojan Hunter guard, Power iso, Daemon, and Quicktime.
    Is all this fairly normal?

    Do i need more memory?
Do i need to remove NvCpl and nwiz ?

    Many thanks
