I bought a new computer a couple weeks ago. I am running windows XP. I cannot install any programs off of a cd. It gives me this error message: WOWEXEC caused a general protection fault in module MMSYSTEM.DLL at 000A:0032. WOWEXEC will close.

My computer did not do this when I brought it home. Help!

As far as I can tell, this error message seems to point to an incompatibility problem.

Sounds like XP cannot run it in emulation (WOW is XPs
    emulation layer for older software)

THe software may just not run on Windows XP.

    Hmmm

Is there any way to restore your system to a date before this happened using System Restore?
