Well here recently I've upgraded from Windows Xp 32 bit to Windows Vista 64 bit and now I'm unable to access the internet via my schools wireless network. I am however able to connect to the schools router and I can see others who are connected.

I've tried both Internet explorer and Mozilla Firefox. Both act as though they are loading then I believe the connection times out. At the moment everything is fine when testing my connection with exception of the ping test.

Also I have zero problems connecting to my wireless network and my friends wireless network.

Should also be noted that my school does normally require you to "sign in" before you can browse the web. What I mean by that is generally you are redirected to their website and forced to sign in before you can access the internet. Currently I am not being redirected from what I can tell.

    Here is my ipconfig /all:

This is obviously the issue. What special requirements do they have for connection? Do they require 802.1X authentication perhaps?

Honestly I have no idea and I'm not sure on how to find out.

Say for instance they do, what would be the solution? To be honest I kind of figured that may be the problem as well, but why would I be unable to be redirected to the log in page now? I've never had issues when I used Xp.

http://www.ccccd.edu/community/CougarLANd.html this is all of the information on my schools wireless network I can find easily. I've looked it over and haven't found anything.

Did you start up IE and log in? (And note: you must use IE, Firefox doesn't normally work.)

Already stated in my original post I've tried both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. Thanks though.

Well my real problem is the fact that I'm not getting redirected to my schools log in screen. Also when I try to connect to the log on screen directly it acts as if it loads but the page remains blank. Again I've done this with both browsers (firefox and internet explorer). Any ideas on what I can do?

This may be "simply" another problem with a wireless driver for Vista 64 bit.

However, it is also advisable to contact the school's IT dept. You don't have a general problem because you can connect elsewhere. The IT folks may have encountered the same symptoms with other students and may know a cure.

Could be an issue with a non-Windows firewall or anti-spyware application.

The advice to contact the IT dept. still holds.

Alright I'll try my luck with them if I can actually manage to get in contact with them.
