I recently noticed a website http://www.tech-aggregator.com, basically reposting everything that appears on this website.

I know other websites do this to some extent, but I even found stuff I there posted here less than an hour ago! Any idea what for?

It looks like you could cut your server load in half by blocking it unless it serves some useful purpose to this website.

Edit: LOL... they have a © symbol at the bottom of the page!

The worst thing is that they aren't reposting everything from this site. They only seem to post the opening question!

There are a lot of these sites out there -- they (illegally) copy our content in the hopes that search engines will lead people to them and they can benefit from the ad revenue displayed on those pages. I'll send them a cease and desist letter today, but often it's not worth actually going after them. Thanks for the report! (y)

?? What would be the purpose for this? It leads right back here to TSG.

Know that if you start a topic it will be on this other site.

Don't you have the capacity to just block them? You can block member IPs after all, can't you block these sites?

We can block them from retrieving additional documents from the site, but only if we know what IP address they're using. I've already blocked the IP address of that web site, but it's entirely possible that they're using another computer and/or IP address to retrieve the documents.
