    Hello all,

What im trying to do is to be able to play my xbox 360 but have the video come from my laptops monitor. I have the necessary cables for my xbox but since my laptop doesn't accept vga input I planned on getting a vga usb capture card thing, but now I'm wondering if an external monitor would do the trick. So my question is, if I take a monitor and make it my primary display for my laptop, can I use the vga input on the monitor for my xbox?

    Thanks!:D

Yes, that should work and work better then using a Video Capture card, but you'll still need something for audio. The monitor would not have to be used with the laptop at all, in reality when you use it with the XBOX the laptop becomes irrelevant.

Also be aware that you can get monitors with a variety of inputs, VGA, DVI, HDMI, and Component, so you do not have to limit yourself to one with VGA only and I think the XBOX can also use those formats as long as you have the proper cables for it.
