I'm trying to connect my Xbox 360 to go on xbox live though my laptop using windows 7. I have tried almost every website possible to help me set it up and I have followed all the steps correctly, but I don't have a sharing tab that shows up and I also can't bridge my two connections for some reason. When I right click on the two connections to bridge them together I don't get an option to bridge them. Will you please help? Thanks!

With your laptop having internet access and connected to the Xbox but with no ICS and no bridging please show ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start)

    Type the following command:

    IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

On the wireless you have an apparent good connection to a router, but the ethernet is not connected. At least, Windows thinks it's "Media disconnected."

If you thought that it was connected there is a problem with the NIC (ethernet adapter), the cable, or the Xbox's ethernet port.

    That now looks good. :)

You should be able to bridge the connections now. If not, exactly what happens or doesn't happen?

While usually not as good you should also be able to enable ICS on the wireless connection. If you try this and it doesn't work exactly what happens or doesn't happen.

When you try either of these if it doesn't work please show the ipconfig /all for the failed attempt.

When I try to bridge my two connections, my local area connection and wireless network connection, I highlight them both, then right click I don't have an option to do anything. It just shows some options but they are in grey so I can't click on them. I also don't even have an option that says bridge. The options that I am getting are disable, status, diagnos, create shortcut, delete, rename, and properties but I still can't even click on those.
I don't know if this will help or not but here is the cmd....

I have no idea why that is happening. When I (Windows 7) select two connections and right click "Bridge Connections" is the only thing not grayed out. When I select only one connection and right click I can still click on "Bridge Connections" (which tells me that I have to select at least two connections).

Two "generic" things that may work ...

    sfc /scannow.

    (From a JohnWill post)

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Vista or 7.

Start, Programs\Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log

Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

    Reboot the machine.
