I have a pretty cheap but ok Hama Dynamic microphone (www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00006J6LN) and would like to be able to record from it straight to software such as garage band and possibly mixcraft 5 (if/when i get a copy). would a XLR to USB adapter allow me to do this, and if so what type would i need? i have an ok onboard soundcard on my pc, so would the adapter need an active preamp, or could i simply use a lead like this: http://tiny.cc/1ahru

    thanks in advance
