I have a multi-boot set up with XP 64 as one of the OS's. I have been using it more often recently and it can suddenly give a black screen, keyboard doesn't work (tried to shutdown 'blind' using Ctrl+Alt+Del then Alt+S then Enter, no response). Also pressing Numlock doesn't affect the LED.
There is nothing relevant in Event Viewer.
The PC goes totally dead although the power is still on.
I have Vista 64 also and this works perfectly, so do Vista 32 and XP 32.
There is no pattern to the freezes, at least none I can see, they seem to occur at random times.
I know it's a tall order with such an intermittent fault but has anyone got any idea what I can do to troubleshoot this ?
(if it helps my system specs. are 'under' the PC icon above)
