My problem began when my Alienware PC refused to load XP. It had the option to repair the partitition but I decided to get my windows xp cd and re-installed it in a folder named c:\windows2. Since I cannot log on to c:\windows; i used my windows2 xp to log on everytime and even activated it without a problem.

After a week, I manage to stumble on a "fix" to my c:\windows problem and manage to repair it. However when i log in using the c:\windows version, i get a windows should be activated screen. It then tells me to register, i click yes.
Instead of bringing me to the activation screen, it brings me to my old desktop (yey) but goes back to the log on screen. It tells again windows must be activated.

Did this happen because I activated it on the windows2 directory? IF so how can i remove that and use this instead?

    Thanks for the help.
