I activated my copy of XP on one of my computers about a month ago, but said computer is on it's last leg. My Mom got me an old computer from her work, and I've installed the same version of XP on it. This brought to my attention that only one computer can have XP activated on it a time. Is there a way for me to "unactivate" XP on the computer I'll be throwing out, so that I can use it on my computer that actually works? :(

I believe a simple phone call to MS activation will solve the problem - buy yes, you can do that...

If you sucessfully activated the installation on your Moms PC, you need not do anything other than quit using yours.
