XP activation

    hey i got an XP cd from a friend and with his cd key n install xp but i cant activate it cuz it sed cd key used already
    so then what shall i do ?

    is it that i have to uninstall xp?
    if so then how do i uninstall windows xp and install windows ME?

    and my usb mouse doesnt work
    the light on the mouse is on but when i move it the pointer wont move

    If you can't use the CD-KEY then the OS hasn't been installed and there is nothing to remove. Never heard of the new licensing rules set forth by the almighty M$?? It has always been this way, but they have finally implemented a way to enforce that one piece of software is installed on only one PC.

    As for your mouse, I would suggest reinstalling the drivers for it.

    i mena i installed windoes xp
    but u know u have to activate it
    and i cant activate my windows xp
    is there anyway i can or do i have to buy one for myself?

    You have to buy your own copy of XP. The software has been registered by the owner and therefore cannot be re-registered without contacting Microsoft and then only in cases where the hardware has failed and corrupted the original install. This is to prevent software piracy.

    yeh i know i got my own xp now

    but my mouse always lags

    i use usb for the mouse does it make a diff
    n i dunno the version n brand my mouse is so i cant find a driver

    Download and run Belarc. It will tell you everything about your system.
