Have posted in All Other Software and did not get a reply.

Problem from a friend: when he is connected to the Internet, and opens WMP, via Media Guide, the WindowsMedia.com home page does NOT open. Under Tools/Options/Player, 'start player in media guide' is checked, Under File, 'work offline' is not checked, so does anyone know why the main page does not open? He gets another page with radio, music and video on it but of course the main page has the menu with Sport, News, Entertainment etc etc listed on it.

For now, I have given him a shortcut to WindowsMedia.com but am wondering why this does not open from WMP. The copy of WMP9 is freshly downloaded to replace version 8 which also had the same problem which is why I downloaded 9 for him
only to find the same thing occurring.

    Thanks

    Lyn

i can't answer your qiestion very well, but i had to download another copy of media 9 yesterday, it said my version was out of date, (two months old) if everything else on your pc is normal, download load it again. i would look to see how many of the old files of were left in, though. it may not matter. it may be missing just one dll.

It is a bit of a mystery. May download again to see if it makes any difference. It is just the link to the WindowsMedia.com page that seems to be broken -probably just one little file missing.
    Thanks.
