XP Encryption

    Probably a easy question for ya...for some reason my box to choose to encrypt a file or folder is shaded out...cannot check it...

    Not sure about how to fix that...as I never have used XP encryption...but I would still like to know :)

    have SP2 installed as well.

    I don't know if you can even get that option (even if greyed out) in XP home, but if you are using home edition, then you can't use encryption, afaik. Otherwise, is the drive formatted with FAT or NTFS? Encryption will only work on NTFS.

    aha! see how easy that was? its NTFS, but Home edition...will try it on tech computer..it has Pro :)
