    Hi all,

I'm using XP home ver. and my pc is very slow.
I tried mircotrend scan, ad-ware, spybot, I run defrag often, cleaned out the cache, temp files and cookies. I stopped many of the service that I don't need. I also added another 128 ram stick which brings my ram to 256 now. I ran all the test from pc doctor and each one passed. Still it takes forever to boot up and open other programs.

I really only use this pc for surfing the net and emails so there is very little programs installed on the system.
The major programs are mcafee security center and mircosoft works along with ad-ware and spybot, plus the programs that came with xp.

Does anyone have any ideas what is causing the slowing down.

    Thanx
    Sam

it looks like your machine needs a tuneup :)
    try this software
    http://www.tune-up.com/
if your machine is still slow , most likely your machine is infected (adwares, trojans)

and also one more thing you have only 256 ram , it still not enough to run xp smoothly , if u can ,add more rams .
