xp home can't use

    I try to install window xp home addition sp2 now all I get is failure to install 1389 I try to reinstall cd but nothing happen and I can't do nothing with the computer can someone help me

    hiya,you have set the CD/DVD Rom as first boot in bios,has any new hardware been replaced ie video card,

    no its not the video card and no new hardware what I did was to I had window 7 a pirate copy install and I didn't like it so I wanted to reinstall it to its original window xp home and i install the reinstallation cd an d now I can't do a thing with it when I boot up it ask for 2cd and then I hit ok it said copy files D:\1386 and then I hit ok and nothing happen it said accessis denied can you help me it an old dell dimension 3000

    have you got the dell recovery CDs that came with the PC,looks like the windows 7 install has wiped the recovery partition.only way out is contact dell and ask them if they have a set of specific recovery discs for your PC,

    that's what am install the recovery cd xp but nothing do you think if I get a new cd maybe it would work
