Have you opened Task Manager (to open it left click the taskbar and select it) and made sure that only one copy of the application is running?

Right click on the Taskbar and select Properties and check to be sure that the box: Group simular taskbar buttons is checked.

I did open the task manager and check how many application is running. I also tried to close one of the icons, then the application closed. I also have the group similar taskbar icon checked.
