I use XP pro and here lately it's been taking taking a real long time for windows to load. The little blue progrss line that goes across the screen when xp is loading has went from taking about 15 secs to about 2-3 minutes to load. Is there a way to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

Click on Start . . Run . . type msconfig . . go to the startup tab and look at what all is running at startup . . you can usually safely uncheck everything but your antivirus and firewall ( if third party ) . . see if that improves start up time. If something does now work after that you can go back and enable one at a time to see which is the offender.

When you restart, you will see a message that warns you have fiddled with system configuration . . check the "don't bother me boy" box and it will go away.
