My Computer is stuck in some rebooting cycle. I have XP home edition. Every time I log in it shows my desktop with no icons, sits then logs off. I've tried safe mode with the same result. I've tried booting with my XP cd with same result. I read somewhere that it might be a virus but have no idea.

    I would appreciate any help.

Thanks, and I have tried last configuration.
I'm starting to wonder if it's a hard drive problem.

    Hello furt,
What did it do when you tried to boot off the cd?

Is the bios set to boot from the cd first? The cd should intercept the bootup.
