XP media player wont open

    I have XP home edition and and my media player wont open it just makes a "BONG" noise when i try to open.. I tried to reinstall WMP it is not a driver issue cause other things are working i ran the repair with the xp CD but it didnt help. i canot listen to my music... and i would like to fix this but have no clue.. Can someone HELP..? Please :confused: :confused: :confused:

    try this, click start, then run and type this in:
    Mplayer2.exe /play /close C:\Windows\Media\Ringin.wav

    see if anything happens.

    All that did was make the secondary player come up and make a phone ring noise.. heh (n)

    It was suppose to...to see if it was responding or not.
