    Hello All,

I would like to use a hand mouse on my Gateway laptop which has the finger square slide mouse. Is there any way to do this. I have a usb to serial adapter installed, what else do I need?

As long as the USB to Serial adapter's driver is loaded correctly, it should be plug and play with XP.

A plain old USB mouse would work just as easy, even if your laptop has a PS/2 port, they all should be plug and play, as mice are a fundamental part of the Windows OS.
