    Hi

My computer isnt detecting any cds, cdrs, cdrws, et etc.
    It is a windows xp.
When ever i put in a cd it won't auto run, and when i double click on the disk drives in 'my computer' it opens a blank page. whenI right click and properties, it says disk is full, even though it isnt detecting one. Any help would be appreciated and thanks alot.

    Did this start suddenly?

Have you recently installed any software that uses the drives, like burning programs or Iso makers?

Try cleaning the lens with a commercial lens cleaner, too.

i was just about to say the same as Elvandil. If it has happened gradually like having to insert a disk a few times before its recognised then it could be a dirty laser lens or the laser has gone completely meaning a new drive needed.

Have you checked the disk management console to see if the drive is present and showing disk size when a CD/DVD is in the drive?

To open the Disk Management Console Start>Run and type diskmgmt.msc click OK

OK the drive is detected but the media in the drive is not.
If like Elvandil said you have recently installed any burning software or ISO makers you could try uninstalling them or doing a system restore to remove them, or clean the lens with a cleaning CD. There are plenty on Ebay for around £4/$6 including postage.

You don't say how old the drive is, they do have a life span. Depending on the quality of manufacturer and usage the laser could fail as quickly as 2 years (it has happened to me) maybe even less with heavy use.
