    Hi,

    I've got a problem and wonder if someone could help me out...

    Windows XP Pro SP2 was working fine until I rebooted and now the desktop won't load. All the programs are accesable from the task manager>new task and I have run a AVG scan with no results. The screen picture loads, but nothing else. No start bar, no office toolbar, no icons, no anything.

    I've scanned the forum for an answer and there was one result for desktop failing to load, but this did not seem applicable.

    I am getting no error messages.

    The HiJack this report is as follows;

    I think that the Deskide toobar app is mainly your problem. I would bootup into safemode and uninstall it.

    Thanks for the replies.

    I'm off into safe mode to remove the Deskide toobar.

    Meanwhile, I've updated HJT and attach the new log. I've still got the same thing happening...

    No change :(

    But, I think I may have tracked it down to Explorer.exe loading and then not running any more/crashing. I'm not getting any error messages, but it's def starting and then stopping because when I run it again I see the start bar for 2 seconds and then its gone again.

    I think I shall try unpacking it...
