Hi

Every now and then when user logs on to XP Pro SP3 PC (not administrator) the desktop comes up without icons or taskbar. PC responds to CTRL-ALT-DEL and opens Task manager, and then explorer.exe can be started as a New Task. However other start up tasks, such as anti-virus have not started either.

Without fail, by user logging off, and logging on again, all starts up fine.

Have used msconfig and turned off pretty well all non-essential startup tasks.

TSG Sysinfo log follws:

Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 3, 32 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz, x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 13
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 2037 Mb
Graphics Card: Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family, 1 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 302112 MB, Free - 257773 MB;
Motherboard: Dell Inc., 0G679R
Antivirus: ZoneAlarm Antivirus, Updated: Yes, On-Demand Scanner: Enabled

Open to suggestions to overcome this irritating little problem.
