I did something I knew I shouldnt do. But I installed a 2nd drive with Linux on it as a slave drive, to format the Linux drive. My XP pro machine now wont get past the Windows XP loading screen. I tried to use the Last know good config., and then tried to do recovery console. I installed the 6 loadup disks and it wont get past disk 6, it just hangs up. Any suggestions.

    Thanks in Advance

    Hi csstereo,

I'm assuming you added another distinct drive ?
    (not a partition)

Since the Linux is not a Microsoft product, it
will not create a boot sequence for you.

You would need something like "System
Commander" to successfully add Linux to
your system. Your problem at this point is
to remove Linux from the 2nd disk. In fact,
I would remove that HDD and TRY to format
it by itself, as the only drive in the machine.

THEN, with the XP HDD in the system (alone),
see if it will boot up. You may have to re-install
XP, however I think your files would be pretty
    much intact.

THEN, with the 2nd HDD back in the machine
(formatted by a DOS type format) Install the
    latest version of "System Commander".

You can then add Linux THROUGH that program,
    and it should work OK.
