I am working on my wife's computer, and I'm having a problem. Most of her features are turned off... But let me explain. She plays The Sims 2 a lot so I believe we used a program to disable anything it could to make things run faster for that heavy of a game. Autoplay is off, icons (as in Desktop) are not antialiased, the text for desktop icons have the desktop color behind them, rather than being transparent (disabled Cleartype?), when a removable disc or CD-ROM is inserted, it does not show up in My Computer until you manually refresh, and thumbnails are disabled. I have looked for any possible options in the control panel, My Computer properties, etc, but despite enabling these things, they're still disabled. I think at one point we used GameXP, but I downloaded it and clicked "Windows Defaults" and restarted, but to no avail. Does anyone have any idea what program might have done this? Or how to reverse them through some other method than obvious options?
