Hello,

On my Windows XP Home Edition every so often I get a Pop-Up with a countdown clock saying that Windows is shutting down and it mentions NT/Authority\System

Thanks if you can help me out with this.

I trust you have an up-todate virus scanner installed on your system, your problem is very likely to be the MsBlast virus. You can download the fix tool from....
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.removal.tool.html

Also if you go to Start : Run and type....
services.msc
In the window that appears Scroll down to 'remote procedure call (rpc)' and double click, under the 'Recovery' tab, change the responses from 'restart the computer' to 'restart the service'.

Hope this helps !
