I just built a new computer. And i got a quad core. My friends say that Windows XP can not read a quad core and will identify it as one cpu. Is this true? Is there software i need? I posted this in the hardware and XP sections because i am not sure what it falls under. Thanks.

It is technically one cpu but will read as 4. Go Run, devmgmt.msc and then open processors and you will see.
