I've recently had to reinstall windows XP home edition which wiped out all my settings. I'm trying to reconnect my DSL box and am not getting anything. I chatted with an att 2wire tech support guy and he mentioned that because there are no tasks at all in the network connections folder I would need to install drivers? from the XP reinstall cd. I'm not sure what to do? I reinstalled XP from the recover disc.

Do you see any problem devices in Device Manager that may need drivers?

I'm getting yellow question marks for ALL "other devices" which include ethernet controller, pci device, pci modem, etc. Do I need to dl drivers to make a connection? When I did the reinstall I used windows XP service pack 2.

Since this thread is a duplicate, I'm going to close it. It appears that the other thread has progressed beyond this one. There's nothing to be gained by merging them.
