Whenever I start XP HOME, I get an option of STARTING HOME, or RUNNING SETUP...the default is SETUP, unless I manually move the pointer to START XP HOME. The OS runs fine...how do I get this machine to just jump to XP HOME OS and not the setup option?

If this is due to an incomplete reinstallation, it is best to let it finish.

If not, go to Folder Options in the Control Panel, View tab, and unhide hidden files and folders. Find boot.ini in the root directory and open it with Notepad. Edit out the setup line.

If you don't know what to edit, paste the contents of the boot.ini file here.

An alternative that will at least hide the problem is to right-click My Computer, Properties, Advanced tab, Startup and Recovery button.

Choose the operating system you want to boot into in the dropdown box and set the time to display operating systems to 0. Apply.
