Xp to Win 7 q

    So if i upgrade from xp to 7 (obviosully not inplace upgrade) can i then use the xp cd on a different computer?

    Depends on Whether the CD is Retail or not.
    If its an OEM Install,
    you cant

    It doesn't matter. If a Windows XP license is used as a qualifying product for an upgrade, it cannot be used on another computer.

    The key word here is Upgrade.
    If the Windows 7 is an upgrade licence you can't reuse the old XP

    If you are using the word upgrade loosely and the Windows 7 is a full licence, then providing the XP is not OEM supplied you could re-use it.
