XP toolbars

    I am running Windows XP Home and discovered an annoyance. When I open a window for a program or explorer, the top toolbar buttons (File, Edit, etc.) are highlighted in white. This just started happening a few days ago. I can't seem to find a setting to turn it off. Any idea how to do so?
